Far-out audio collage, mostly spoken word (German language), from private home recordings from the 1960s. The tapes were partly found in flea markets, partly given to him by friends. The collage (almost 50 minutes) was broadcast by DeutschlandRadio-Berlin in 1998. Beautiful artwork.

Based on the cult 50s radio show Dimension X which the music largely illustrates, this album is a meeting of avant-rock, skewered Battles-like high speed guitar puzzle pop and layered sci-fi vintage electronics, heavy jams by David Chalmin, Massimo Pupillo and Chris Corsano. These guys have earned their stars in great groups like Zu, The Ex, Dream/Aktion Unit, each of them playing on astronomical levels.... honestly.

The designs are directly associated with the LP content and explained in a booklet. Audio-collage of radio broadcasts, very well done and made mainly between 1969 and 1975.

„Sonic Antarctica“ features natural and industrial field recordings, sonifications and audifications of science data and interviews with weather and climate scientists. The areas recorded include: the „Dry Valleys“ (77°30′S 163°00′E) on the shore of McMurdo Sound, 3,500 km due south of New Zealand, the driest and largest relatively ice-free area on the continent completely devoid of terrestrial vegetation. Another is the geographic South Pole (90°00′S), the center of a featureless flat white expance, on top of ice nearly nine miles thick.

Dieter treats us to 45 minutes of ad hoc piano improvisations, helped along by a substantial amount of booze, a seedy kind of humour and a dadaistic attitude, including the studio technician in the conspiracy. It's genuinely funny. Originally an LP published in 1978, now in the form of a booklet with Roth's own transcriptions (partly hand-written) of everything that is being said & done in the studio. Introduction by Roth and endtroduction by Malcolm Green.
