Vitiello, Bode and Deutsch - Autumn Light
Autumn Light consists of six pieces by Stephen Vitiello, Peer Bode and Andrew Deutsch. The odd numbered tracks are collaborative pieces constructed over a three year period. These tracks have a vine like quality comprised from interminglings of noise, texture, field recordings, and tone. All together these tracks communicate the dense pungent scent of wet soil, roots and the complicated nature of a wild garden. The even tracks are solo pieces by Stephen Vitiello. Lush in atmospherics and composed of brilliant blocks of sound, these tracks reflect the light warmth, and humidity need for growth. Program your CD player for either the even or odd tracks and you will have two extraordinary different experiences, or play them as ordered and imagine yourself in a physicalized garden of sound.

Alva Noto - Xerrox Vol. 2
'Alva Noto has out of the blue delivered one of the most emotionally arresting and quite simply jaw-dropping album's we've heard in recent times. Carsten Nicolai once again shuns the pinpoint precision for which he's become renowned, turning to a more abstract yet harmony-driven working methodology. As with the first Xerrox album, the starting point is a set of samples culled from external sources; this time around, snippets and recordings of SunnO))) dronesmith Stephen O'Malley and composer Michael Nyman feature, as does an excerpt from the 2004 Insen tour with Ryuichi Sakamoto. All these elements melt together beautifully under a unified banner of widescreen, washed-out digital ambiences, molten electronics and in the case of pieces like the outstanding 'Monophaser 1', an ambitiously symphonic scale.' Oren Ambarchi & Martin Ng - Reconnaissance
First duo release by Australian composers Oren Ambarchi and Martin Ng from Sydney - a trilogy of pieces based upon the fluid architectural modulation of harmonics and resonances. Recalling the landmark experiments of the Sonic Arts Union (Robert Ashley, David Behrman, Alvin Lucier and Gordon Mumma), Ambarchi and Ng create an enigmatic tapestry of pulsing, shimmering and shifting sound which represents a subtle and compelling realignment of Eastern and Western minimalist traditions.

Anaphoria - Footpaths and Trade Routes
ini.itu is releasing the third LP of its catalogue, a 3 tracks album assembled by Kraig Grady under the moniker Anaphoria. In ontrast with his ensemble compositions, this ini.itu LP presents 2 solo compositions inspired by the traditions of Anaphoria and one meta-track assembled from multiple ensemble takes. With tunes strongly reminiscent of gamelan instruments, the album unfurl elegant and refined tracks of hypnotic and nocturnal beauty, rich with soothing and gloomy overtones. This album fills the room with simultaneously austere, restrained and peacefully complex reverberations, suspending the sense of time.

Mark Applebaum - The Janus Remixes
Between 1992 & '96 he composed 11 pieces forming the Janus Cycle, hard-core modernist work for virtuoso ensembles. Intrigued by the techno artist's habit of remixing his own listening past, he digitally remixed his own compositional past. Impressive.

Robert Ashley - Automatic Writing
Three of Ashley's landmark recordings, Automatic Writing (1979), Purposeful Lady Slow Afternoon (1971) and She Was A Visitor (1967). Composed in recorded form over a period of five years, Automatic Writing is the result of Robert Ashley's fascination with involuntary speech. He has recorded and analyzed the repeated lines of his own mantra and extracted four musical characters. The result is quiet, mysterious, melancholy and an early form of ambient music. Purposeful Lady Slow Afternoon, and She Was a Visitor are excerpts from an opera entitled That Morning Thing that was composed in 1966-67.

Billy Bao - Urban Disease
'Urban Disease' is the new radical work by Billy Bao, Mattin, Taku Unami, Tim Barnes, Barry Weisblat and Margarida Garcia. It's important to remember that before Mattin and anarchism ruined his life, Billy Bao was a bit of a troubadour who accompanied himself on acoustic guitar and warbled wild songs of protest in his native Nigerian patois. This new album, his third on vinyl, finds Billy in a transitional phase toward the end of 2006, before the gaztetxes of Bilbao burrowed into his marrow, before Mattin became the Merle to his G.G., before Billy turned into herpes sore in the mouth of global capitalism. The Lp is mastered and cut by Rashad Becker at D&M, in a limited edition of 500 copies, pressed on 140g vinyl and comes in a poly-lined inner sleeve. It is packaged in a pro-press jacket which itself is housed in a silk screened pvc sleeve with original artwork by New York artist HENRY FLYNT.
